Easy On Hold® for BroadSoft BroadWorks
Replace short, repetitive default hold music with a continuous, scalable SIP-based stream managed from the cloud.
BroadSoft BroadWorks Streaming Music On Hold
BroadWorks can direct held, parked and busy-camp-on calls to an external SIP music source. Easy On Hold® provides a proprietary SIP-based streaming endpoint that registers to the BroadWorks Identity/Device Profile created for your service.
This replaces the familiar short default loop with a continuously running caller experience. Callers enter the live stream at its current point instead of hearing the same recording from the beginning every time they are placed on hold. Content length is not restricted by an uploaded-file limit, reducing obvious repetition and improving perceived variety.
Authorized business and marketing users manage background music, properly licensed popular hits, greetings and promotional messages through the Easy On Hold Content Control Center™. Each audio item can use scheduled start and stop dates and times, allowing time-sensitive content to publish and retire automatically. The BroadWorks configuration remains in place while content changes remotely, removing recurring audio-file work from the technical team.
How the BroadWorks Streaming MOH Integration Works
Exchange SIP Information
Easy On Hold provides the required Line/Port ID for the SIP source. The source behaves like an extension that held or parked calls connect to, then releases the connection when the caller resumes. Your BroadWorks administrator supplies the SIP Server Domain Name and, when applicable, the SIP proxy and password.
Create the Identity/Device Profile
From the BroadWorks group-level Resources view, add an Identity/Device Profile and select Generic SIP Music On Hold as the profile type. Name the profile without spaces and use the transport specified for the deployment.
Configure Music/Video on Hold
In group Music/Video on Hold settings, choose External Source and the new Identity/Device Profile. Enter the Easy On Hold Line/Port ID, confirm the SIP Server Domain Name and select the appropriate preferred audio codec, commonly G.711.
Confirm Registration and Test
Notify Easy On Hold after the BroadWorks configuration is complete. Our team confirms registration before live testing. Test hold, park and busy-camp-on paths, then manage future music and message changes from the Easy On Hold portal.
